These days, before any type of print media is published, whether it is a magazine, newspaper, or even a novel, it is likely the case that Photoshop has been used to enhance and clean up the imagery on many (if not all) of the pages.
Most photographers and virtually all magazines today use Photoshop in some form of way in order to enhance their imagery.
Adobe Photoshop is a graphics editing program first developed and published by Adobe Systems in 1989. Since, around 25 new version of the program have been released on both Windows and Mac with CS6 (Version 13), being the latest incarnation. The program allows you to manipulate images and plays a huge roll in today’s fashion and photography scene.
Images can be “touched up” in a variety of different ways and methods. Common airbrushing methods would be removing a blemish or mole from a model, while other images are manipulated on a more drastic scale. These would be the images you see on magazine covers.
We put our Photoshop skills to the test and created a before and after example to show you a working example of our touch up and photo enhancing skills:

Using a picture of Lady Gaga that was taken by well-known American photographer, Matthew Rolston, we enhanced the image by smoothing out the skin, adjusting the light, enhancing make-up and correcting colour where we saw fit. The end result gives you a cleaner version of the image that simply ‘pops’ more.
